At Jefferson every student has an iPad to use at school!  Teachers spent time learning about the iPads and different apps. They found the best apps that matched our curriculum.  We use the iPads to enhance our teaching and engage our students everyday.

The students love to use the iPads.  Here are some of the things we are doing in our classrooms:

Creating movies about the life cycle of a butterfly
Practicing combining numbers
Responding to reading
Labeling Continents and Oceans on Skitch
Using Today's Meet and iDiary for responses to literature
AVMR math activities
"My Summer" presentations using Keynote
Reading fluency / reading aloud - recording using i-Talk
Writing a "teaching" book using Keynote (tied in with Comprehension Toolkit)
Labeling insect body parts on a photo of a butterfly and caterpillar using Skitch
Sharing work created on iPad with the teacher using Evernote
Blogging follow-up to field trip and read-alouds using KidBlog
Using Keynote to create presentations about ourselves
Sorting activities about the different seasons when studying weather in science
